Finding a Mid Point

x_1+x_2= \tfrac{x}{2} \,\!

y_1+y_2= \tfrac{y}{2} \,\!

Example:

(26,14) (30,6)

26+30=56/2

56/2=28

14+6=20/2

20/2=10

so the mid point between (26,14) and (30,6) is (28,10)

When you are given two points and you need to find the middle point do the following steps:

1) add the x's together and then add the y's together to get your new coordinates.

2) divide both the x and the y by two. that will give you a new coordinate.

THAT IS YOUR MIDDLE POINT BETWEEN THE TWO OTHER POINTS!! It is just that easy.
